10 Points is urgently looking to hire ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher to join our dedicated team at our school sites in Dorchester, MA, for the fall.

Position Details:

  • Title: ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher
  • Start Date: NSY
  • Age Group: K-12 (VARY)
  • Caseload: approx. 10-15 students
  • WIDA testing, meetings, progress reports, PD etc.,

Certificates and/or Licenses:

  • Active ESL certification for the state of MA.

Education and Experience:

  • B.A./B.S. degree required, with a preference for classroom experience.
  • 2 years of experience working as a ESL or general education teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver push-in ESL instruction to 8 - 12 grade students with varying levels of English proficiency.
  • Collaborate with core content teachers align instruction with WIDA standards in order to support both the ELL students’ English language development and classroom instructional needs.
  • Collaborate with the partial inclusion ELD teacher to align weekly goals with core content materials.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and staff regarding progress and manage the communication requests of parents.
  • Work with the ESL Director and other members of the school staff to develop and improve ESL programming.
